Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Diesel)

Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the company’s fleet of construction equipment and attachments. The work is a mix of shop and field service. This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who can work independently, communicate clearly with operators and management, and keep our equipment safe, reliable, and ready to work.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance assignments across a mix of shop and field work.
• Diagnose the condition of company-owned heavy equipment and attachments.
• Perform repairs on hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems, including welding.
• Maintain positive and effective communication with operators, colleagues, vendors, and equipment manufacturers.
• Keep accurate records related to repair orders, parts, and time cards.
• Attend company-sponsored and manufacturer factory training classes as needed.
• Adhere to all company and industry safety practices.
• Overtime may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

• 5 years of heavy equipment repair and servicing experience (Required).
• Experience repairing construction equipment and related attachments.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical systems, and structural repairs — including welding.
• Ability to work with limited supervision (a true “self-starter”).
• Basic computer skills to perform electronic diagnostics.
• Physical capability and dexterity required, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• A complete set of tools to perform related repairs.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent (Required).
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record (Required).
• Good references from former employers and colleagues.
• Ability to reliably commute to North Bend, WA (Required).
